Built for Builders —
At Every Stage
Women who build things — or are learning to. Web and software developers, designers, XR-curious creators, AI engineers, technical founders, career switchers, students, and anyone curious about what comes after the flat screen are encouraged to join us.
All are welcome, with an intentional focus on creating space for women and underrepresented builders in emerging technology.
✦ No XR experience? No problem. Every session starts from zero.

Take the Build Further
The workshop is just the start. The DIALED IN Builder Challenge gives you 14 days after your city's event to keep building — and compete for a share of $5,000 in prizes. Your submission can be any experience that meaningfully leverages the Vonage Voice API. WebXR is one direction. The API is the requirement.

Frequently Asked Questions
About the Workshop
- What is DIALED IN?
- DIALED IN is a 5-city workshop roadshow produced by CreateHER Fest in partnership with Vonage. At each stop, attendees build immersive WebXR experiences using Vonage APIs — learning spatial computing hands-on in a room full of other women in tech.
- Do I need experience with XR or WebXR to attend?
- No experience needed. Every DIALED IN session starts from zero. Whether you've never touched WebXR or you're already building in 3D, the workshop meets you where you are.
- Who is DIALED IN for?
- DIALED IN is built for women who build things — or are learning to. Web and software developers, designers, AI engineers, technical founders, career switchers, and students are all welcome. There is an intentional focus on creating space for women and underrepresented builders in emerging technology.
- What will I actually build at a DIALED IN workshop?
- At the workshop, you'll use the Vonage Voice API to create a WebXR experience — a 3D spatial world that can receive an actual phone call. Real APIs, real tools, a real build you leave with. After the workshop, the Builder Challenge opens the scope: extend your WebXR project or take the Voice API anywhere you want.
- Who produces DIALED IN?
- DIALED IN is produced by CreateHER Fest, a 501(c)(3) public-benefit technology organization, in partnership with Vonage. CreateHER Fest creates pathways for women and allies to learn, build, and lead across emerging technologies.
The Builder Challenge
- Is there a Builder Challenge after the workshop?
- Yes. The DIALED IN Builder Challenge gives you 14 days after your city's workshop to keep building and submit for a share of $5,000 in prizes. You don't need to have finished something at the workshop to enter — you just need to have attended or livestreamed. Submit at dialedin.devpost.com.
- What are the Builder Challenge submission deadlines?
- Each city has its own 14-day window from workshop night: Miami: Aug 4–18 | Atlanta: Aug 11–25 | Durham: Aug 18–Sept 1 | DC: Aug 20–Sept 3 | NY: Aug 25–Sept 8. All deadlines are 11:59 PM ET.
Logistics
- Where is DIALED IN happening?
- The 2026 roadshow visits 5 cities: Miami (Aug 4), Atlanta (Aug 11), Durham (Aug 18), Washington D.C. (Aug 20), and New York City (Aug 25). Check the city tracker on this page for registration status and venue details.
- Can I attend DIALED IN virtually?
- Washington DC (August 20th) and New York City (August 25th) are both livestreamed. Register for the Virtual Builder ticket on either event page to join remotely, build along, and still be fully eligible for the Builder Challenge.
- What should I bring?
- A fully charged laptop and your charger. No VR headset or local installs needed — everything runs in your browser. We recommend Google Chrome for the smoothest experience.
- Is there an age requirement?
- Yes. DIALED IN is open to participants 18 and older.
